Mina's House - Casa do Ti'Xico
Bewertet am: 27.04.2025 Length of stay: 6 months
We have had the most amazing time at Flora's property and can't recommend it highly enough! A fantastic start to our time in Portugal.
5 months of peace and quiet in the most adorable and homely environment imaginable. The pictures don't do it justice - it's so much better. Seriously, the two of us had a great time.
The house is well equipped, beautifully designed and finished to the highest standard. If we could have we, we would have given 11 out 10 stars. Everything is just great. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom - top! The neighbours are the sweetest people and couldn't have been more welcoming.
The location is perfect for exploring Alentejo, the town has everything you need and both Castro Verde and Beja are close for anything you can't get or do.
Most importantly though, Flora (and her family) has been the most outstanding host. A super warm welcome, always available for help or advice and nothing was ever a bother or problem. Flora continuously added and improved the property during our staying, making us feel valued, welcomed and appreciated.
We can only recommend Flora, the property and Aljustrel. We loved literally every minute of our stay.
Thank you Flora!!
Neighborhood
Didn't need public transport as we had a car, but we've seen and heard from those we met that buses connect to all the places. The neighbours were amazing, welcoming and genuinely interested to hear our stories. Safe as safe can be. Walking to the centre, to the local shops was a pleasure. Three of the main supermarkets are within easy reach (actually four, Coviran very close). Met the local team from the GNR on horseback - great interaction.
Recommended places nearby
The centre of Aljustrel has everything you need. Supermarkets, shops, hairdressers, petrol station, even a little tech shop! Cafes are plenty and some lovely restaurants. The mining museum is worth visit for sure - within walking distance. A little further away, Castro Verde and Beja and if you're up for a drive, Alentejo is right there. Monsaraz, Evora, Reguengos, Alqeuva. We spent a day at Sines - loved it.
