Agia Pelagia ist ein Dorf , in der Nähe von der Küste gebildet , auf einen ruhigen Arkenplatz , nur 20 kilometer nordwesten von Iraklio. Es hat seinen Namen von einer Kirche bekommen , in Savatiana Kkloster , deren Ruinen sind ein kilometer westen des Dorfes gefunden worden. In der letzten Jahren viele Touristen besuchen Agia Pelagia wegen des schönen Klima , der klaren immer ruhigen See, die aus den norden Winden geschützt wird .Es gibt Tavernen mit frischen Fisch und leckeres , griechischen , traditionelles Essen.Die zentrale Küste hat Sonnenschirmen und Betten.Sie haben die Chance Wassersport treiben , Tauchenkurse machen oder mit kanus segeln.Wenn sie nicht so viel besuchte Strände besuchen möchten , dann können Sie an die Strände in Kladissos ,Psaromoura , Mononautis gehen oder nach osten an die Küste von Ligaria oder Made. In Winter die Strände werden leer aber das Wetter ist immer perfekt für Spazierengängen aufs land oder die Küste von entlang oder auch Schwimmen.
Sehenswürdigkeiten :Die letztenminoischen Grabe und das Rektorat von dem vierten Jahrhundert von Christus die im Jahr 1970 in Kladissos gefunden worden sind.Gemaß dem legenden in einer Höhle an der linken Seite der Küste – die “Erfindung” heißt- haben die einheimischen leuten das bild von der heilige Pelagia gefunden. Daw Ort ist auch geignet für Austurmen auf die Insel. Es gibt Transport mit Büssen , Taxis, vermietende Autos oder Mopeds.Die Lagen die in der Nähe liegen , sind auch sehr interessant.:Κnossos : nur 25 kilometer am Osten Fodele : ein traditionelles Dorf (wo Dominikos Theotokopoulos geboren ist) nur 10 kilometer am westen.Bali: ein malerischen Dorf es liegt auch 30 kilometer westen des Agias Pelagias.Rethimno: die wunderschöne Stadt ist 50 kilometer der gleichen Rictung.
