A restored stone house in Fourni, a quiet village in the hills of eastern Crete: 15 minutes from Elounda and Plaka, 50 minutes from Heraklion airport. The en-suite bathroom has a renovated shower and the washing machine (no dryer, but a drying rack). A short stair climbs to a cosy mezzanine under a roof window, with two single beds; it’s half open to the bedroom and the ceiling is low. The south-facing balcony has two young bougainvilleas.
