More than just a place to stay, Vinha d’Avó is a family project filled with history, love, and care. Our house was built by my grandfather Agostinho in 1937 and has recently been lovingly renovated, preserving its original character while combining the charm of the past with modern comfort.
Located in the heart of Madeira’s south coast, in a peaceful setting surrounded by lush green landscapes, it's the perfect place for those looking to relax, work remotely, or explore the island at their own pace.
The accommodation is a private, cosy, and fully equipped space, thoughtfully designed to make our guests feel truly at home. It features a comfortable sleeping area, a living room with a sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom, reliable Wi-Fi, and a television. Guests also have access to a laundry area with a washing machine and other useful amenities, making it particularly suitable for longer stays.
Outside, you can enjoy a welcoming family atmosphere, with a garden, grapevines, and a little taste of traditional Madeiran life. Whenever possible, we love sharing fresh produce from our garden and eggs from our own hens. 🥬🥚
Our family lives in the same building, in a separate and independent area, so we're always nearby if you need anything, while fully respecting your privacy.
Our location makes it easy to discover Madeira's famous levada walks, mountains, beaches, breathtaking viewpoints, and delicious local cuisine.

Willkommen im Vinha d’Avó!
Vinha d’Avó ist mehr als nur eine Unterkunft: Es ist ein Familienprojekt voller Geschichte, Liebe und Sorgfalt. Unser Haus wurde 1937 von meinem Großvater Agostinho erbaut und vor Kurzem liebevoll renoviert. Dabei blieb sein ursprünglicher Charakter erhalten, und der Charme vergangener Zeiten verbindet sich mit modernem Komfort.
Das Haus liegt im Herzen der Südküste Madeiras in ruhiger Umgebung, umgeben von üppiger grüner Landschaft. Es ist der perfekte Ort für alle, die entspannen, remote arbeiten oder die Insel in ihrem eigenen Tempo erkunden möchten.
Die Unterkunft ist ein privater, gemütlicher und voll ausgestatteter Bereich, der mit viel Bedacht gestaltet wurde, damit sich unsere Gäste wirklich wie zu Hause fühlen. Sie verfügt über einen bequemen Schlafbereich, ein Wohnzimmer mit Sofa, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, ein eigenes Badezimmer, zuverlässiges WLAN und einen Fernseher. Die Gäste haben außerdem Zugang zu einem Waschbereich mit Waschmaschine und weiteren nützlichen Annehmlichkeiten, was die Unterkunft besonders für längere Aufenthalte geeignet macht.
Draußen erwartet Sie eine herzliche Familienatmosphäre mit Garten, Weinreben und einem kleinen Vorgeschmack auf das traditionelle Leben auf Madeira. Wann immer es möglich ist, teilen wir gerne frisches Gemüse aus unserem Garten und Eier von unseren eigenen Hühnern. 🥬🥚
Unsere Familie wohnt im selben Gebäude, in einem separaten und unabhängigen Bereich. So sind wir immer in der Nähe, falls Sie etwas brauchen, und respektieren dabei vollkommen Ihre Privatsphäre.
Von unserem Standort aus lassen sich Madeiras berühmte Levada-Wanderungen, Berge, Strände, atemberaubende Aussichtspunkte und die köstliche lokale Küche leicht entdecken.
Im Vinha d’Avó wünschen wir uns, dass sich jeder Gast willkommen und wohl fühlt und Teil eines wirklich authentischen madeirischen Erlebnisses wird.

I'm Dany! 😊 I work in the Sports, and I'm passionate about nature, Madeira Island's breathtaking landscapes, and our wonderful sunsets. 🌅 I've always enjoyed meeting new people, discovering different cultures, and sharing the very best of our beautiful island. It was this love of sharing that inspired me to start this family project. More than simply offering a place to stay, I want to give our guests an authentic experience, where they feel welcome, discover a little of our local traditions, and truly feel at home.
