Recently renovated cozy 2 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of an historical building, without an elevator, in one of the most exciting suburbs of Lisbon. Flooded with the charateristic natural light of Lisbon, from the kitchen and living room you may enjoy a breath taking view of the Tejo, 25 de Abril bridge and Cristo Rei. Close to many historical marks of the city such as Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Torre de Belém, Basilica da Estrela and many others as well as museums, restaurants, clubs and other local amenities. A few minutes away from the historical Lisbon city center. Very well situated in terms of transport  - bus stops and taxi station in the main road just outside the apartment. A few meters from the apartment are the main train stations Alcântara Mar – going from Cais do Sodré in Lisbon to Cascais and Alcântara Terra – going from Alcântara to Gare do Oriente where you can take the fast trains (Alfa and Intercidades) to the north or south of Portugal.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this charming apartment, and I must say, it boasts a fantastic location that's perfect for exploring the city. The apartment itself is quite cozy and has a lovely atmosphere that makes you feel at home the moment you step in. For remote workers, you'll be delighted to know that the internet connection is exceptionally strong and reliable, ensuring you can stay productive during your stay.

The apartment is very well-equipped with all the amenities you could ask for, including a well stocked kitchen that has a lot of what you would need to whip up your favorite meals. This level of attention to detail is impressive and makes it feel like a home away from home.

However, there are some drawbacks to this otherwise lovely apartment. The most significant issue is the noise. The apartment is situated in a bustling part of town, and the noise from the streets, neighbors, and nearby establishments can make it quite challenging to get a good night's sleep. If you're a light sleeper or someone who values peace and quiet, this might not be the ideal place for you.

Another downside is the bed. The mattress itself is uncomfortable and seems to be on the smaller side, making it especially tough for taller people to get a good night's rest. I'd recommend the host consider upgrading to a more comfortable and larger bed to cater to a broader range of guests.

In conclusion, this apartment has many great features, such as its fantastic location, cozy ambiance, and well-equipped amenities. However, the noise levels and uncomfortable bed might be a deal-breaker for some. I would recommend this place to those who can tolerate a bit of noise and are not too particular about their sleeping arrangements.

The apartment is gorgeous. It is clear that the landlords put in a lot of effort in making this apt a place like home. They are very welcoming, accommodating and responsive to messages, always there to help with whatever question or problem may arise (also very helpful and flexible when it comes to agreeing on a time to do the handover / takeover of the apartment). Since the temperatures were rather low in the morning and the evening during the start of February, I struggled a bit with the fact that there is no central heating for the entire apartment. However, the landlords provide a mobile heater that works perfectly for the bedrooms. Also, during midday the apartment gets a lot of sunshine which also heats the apartment. The landlords put a lot of thought into what one might need during one’s stay and have all the appliances, devices, kitchenware, etc. readily available in the apartment - down to things like a hair dryer, a power strip, or even a bottle of water, seasonings, coffee pads to help you get started). I really loved staying at their apartment.
Neighborhood
I would say it's more residential, it's not buzzing with tourists as Chiado, for example, provides more of a laid-back atmosphere. It does have a lot of nice restaurants, brunch places and cafes to offer. There is at least one very nice viewpoint over the harbor, there are parks nearby.

Manuela and José are very special people. Always attentive for any help required. We had the great pleasure of treating Manuela personally and she was a very kind person. The apartment is very complete with all the necessary things for a nice stay. The bakery, the nearby markets, the butcher shop, etc. make the place a special place. Transport is very easy to access which allows you to get to know Lisbon and its surroundings very easily.

The apartment was great, well equipped and clean. Great location away from the higher trafficked tourist areas, but central enough to reach all neighborhoods on foot or by transit without much trouble. It does get quite loud from the road noise and the heating isn't adequate for the whole space (works great for the bedroom) and I did have a couple of roaches, but for the price it's a great accommodation option.
Manuela was very helpful and kind, I didn't need anything during my 3 week stay but she was very accommodating with timing for move in/move out.

I stayed in Manuela and José's Casa do Zé for over a month. The apartment was beginning to feel like home. Manuela was so prompt to respond to any queries. The neighbourhood felt very safe, surrounded by lovely cafés, restaurants, museums and parks. Highly recommend it.

Casa do Zé sits at the corner of R. Pres. Arriaga. Just down the street on your right is Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, with a lovely Miradouro at the steps of the park 9 de Abril. To the left, there are cafés and small mercados for fruit and vegetables. Bus stops toward Eduardo VII Park with a botanical garden Estufa Fria. Trains at Alcantara Mar to Belém and further.

Nice views of the bridge and the Christ Statue. The apartment has eveything you need.

Manuela, Jose’s wife, was a very caring a present host. During our stay, there was an unexpected issue with the shower, which she came to fix immediately. She also offered us free days as compensation.

Traditional portuguese venue. Metro doesn’t reach here, but you have bus stations near.

We stayed in Casa do Ze for 2 1/2 weeks. The apartment is small and provides a romantic "old" Lisbon experience. The kitchen and bathroom. are newly updated. Appliances all function well and the fridge is large. The water pressure is good. The bed is a double and creeks a lot. There is no A/C but the large windows on both sides of the apartment allow for a breeze as well as the floor fan. Make sure you close the shutters on the river side during the afternoon sun so the apartment remains cool. The trash truck arrives every am around 0100 H and is noisy. The bus stop is directly outside. There are restaurants and mini mercados within walking distance., about 15 mins walk to Pingo Doce and LX Factory. 20-30 mins in opposite direction takes you to Casa do Sodra.

I had such a wonderful stay at Casa do Zé, the location is perfect - it is quiet street but still super close to center. It is also close to water so amazing for morning power walks. The landlord was super helpful and communicative if I needed something. I definitely recommend everyone to book this place and I hope to come back at some point!

Flat is very cozy and well equipped. The building is overall clean and the landlord is polite and responsive. Cleaning of the flat was not included nor they were able to provide any kind of paid-for help with it.
Neighborhood
The area is safe and it's at walking distance from most interesting spots of the city, but be prepared to walk a few kilometres each day. In the immediate neighbourhood there are pastry shops, bars, supermarkets, minimarkets and butcher, ice cream shops and a couple restaurants. The river is nearby and makes for a very nice promenade. Traffic in very high and the noise is noticeable.

My wife and I had a great time staying at Casa do Zé. Everything was as described or better - we especially loved the view and central location, which made exploring beautiful Lisbon very easy.
Neighborhood
Alcantara is a residential neighborhood, with everything you’d need from small Portuguese restaurants and markets, to international food and fancy coffee as well. It is close the the river and connects well to the center of Lisbon, as well as the west (Belem, Cascais, etc.)

It was a great place to stay at before finding something more permanent. It is extremely well located (2-5 minutes walk to different bus stations that connect you with downtown). Comboios (train) stations less than 10-min walk, supermarkets opened until late super close. Sunny throughout the entire day, great view, well equipped (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, laundry), extra clean and pretty and very cozy. Maybe a bit cold but there was a heater that worked pretty well. The garbage truck was a bit noisy at nights but that’d be similar around Lisbon. Manuela and Jose are very responsive and helpful. Lx Factory is close enough to walk, have dinner and walk back. Highly recommended!!

The apartment is really nice - a modern and fully equipped kitchen and bathroom combined with the historical roots of the house and the district itself. The view is great, many grocery stores and restaurants are around and there is a Copenhagen Coffee lab that you can use for working and another coworking not far. The location is A class - just 10 min by walk from the super central districts and 4 min from the embankment (I had my morning runs there). Super close to the Alcantara Mar train station where you can take a train to Cascais. The bus station is 2 min away too.

Manuela and her family replay in 10 min and are super supportive with everything 🥰.

I would recommend this apartment to solo travelers and digital nomads - so you won't regret it!

Beautiful river views, and a fully equipped modern kitchen. The bathroom was large and modern with enough room to turn around and bend down in the shower. Besides being adjacent to a busy street, the location is good. You are within walking distance (3-5 minutes) to the Antiga Museum, Le Chat restaurant, and the April 25th park. 300 meters from Bloom restaurant (excellent brunch), and 250 meters from a pastry and coffee shop. Delicious pizza restaurant on the same street (2-3 minute walk). Small grocery /mini-stores are meters away. The bus stop is nearby. The location is walkable to the LX Factory, Millineum bank, Novo bank, Fado, Sushi, Greek, Nepalese, and local Portuguese restaurants. Stop #13 or #14 Yellow bus Hop-on, Hop-off Belem tour is located at Docas docks 10 minutes away as well as the Hippo tour. After eating at the many restaurants on the main street, walk, jog, or bike to burn calories on the designated waterfront path which is 5 minutes away. Walk to the Belem Tower or the Praça do Comércio. Whatever direction is chosen, you will end your days
with views of the April 25th Bridge and Cristo Rei (Christ statue) across the Tagus river.

The location is walkable to Alacantara, Santos, and all the necessities. Lidl grocery store is located close to the LX Factory. Mini Mercado carries many varieties of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other household needs. The neighborhood is not loud or party central. I walked everywhere. However, several bus routes are nearby.

Restaurants: The Chippy Lisbon ( delicious battered fish), Greek Tavern Dionysis, Love Kebab, Tunel de Santos, Darshan Nepal 2, Gelato Davvero, Bloom restaurant, a delicious pizza restaurant on the same street.

How can I cancel my reservation?

How you can cancel a reservation varies depending on what stage the reservation is in.

Is your reservation request still waiting for landlord approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!

However, suppose the owner has already approved your reservation request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the reservation before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the landlord accepts your reservation, their property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.

Do you have an approved reservation and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your reservation, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).

How you can cancel a reservation varies depending on what stage the reservation is in.

Is your reservation request still waiting for landlord approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!

However, suppose the owner has already approved your reservation request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the reservation before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the landlord accepts your reservation, their property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.

Do you have an approved reservation and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your reservation, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).
